What a blessing to be afforded the opportunity to minister in a Christian bookstore that quite literally was surrounded by many secular stores throughout the large, open space that was filled with hundreds of nonchalant shoppers.

The shopping mall is an example of a secular idol that contains and presents messages that many people may not even realize. First off, many malls are like cathedrals – large, open spaces with twisting hallways and chapels along the way that are stores. People go there to walk around, suffused by a sense of the largeness and even protective qualities of the mall.

Nevertheless, the Lord took this sealed timeless space and used it as a platform for mental healing. He preordained this day. The Lord strategically placed me in the atmosphere of the Mon Christian Book Store at the Crabtree Valley Mall in Durham, NC to share about mental health wellness from a faith-based perspective. He saw fit that there would be a captive audience of believers, non-believers, and seekers to hear resounding life-giving words about the often times stigmatized topic of mental illness.

Participants encountered peace, healing for their hearts, and hope for tomorrow. Thay felt validated and were able to talk freely without being judged.

To God belongs all of the glory and all of the praise. I am only a vessel used by and for His glory.
