Camp Day Out

Emerging HOPE

Summer Camp

Scholarship Program

A summer residential camp is truly a special and unique place of fun and fellowship for children. This amazing experience provides wonderful memories that last a lifetime.  There are so many positive impacts that a summer camp can have for children and teens.  This has been a productive camp season. We are grateful.

CHRISTIAN CAMP IS SO GREAT FOR KIDS It's an opportunity disconnect.
Our culture is loud. I don't mean loud as in volume level. Our culture is loud in that there is all sorts of ambient noise going on all the time. Between school, sports, homework, cell phones, video games, Facebook -- to name a few -- kids today can be spread so thin they are ready to break.
When they come to camp, they turn in their cell phones, unplug their music, and begin to breathe deeply again. It is very fun to see kids surprised by a sunset, or in awe at the sound of crickets at night. Within the first two days at camp, you can begin to see the walls of protection come crashing down.

Through camp, I have learned how to build trust and friendships with people that weren’t like me. I have learned the value of vulnerability: that sharing insecurities and fears with others is not weakness, but strength. I have learned to put relationships before my own desires, being slow to anger and quick to forgive (surprisingly I'm not perfect at this one yet). All these lessons continue to be important as I try to live my life as Jesus would. - Camper

Children have so much fun at camp they are likely unaware of all the valuable skills and lessons they are learning and the long-term benefits they are realizing. But in the meantime, they are storing up a lifetime of happy memories!

We are looking forward to next year!

Shalom,
Ministers Curtis and Dr. Pamela  Robinson

Last summer we were blessed to completely award all of the scholarships for Camp Emerging HOPE.  What a bittersweet problem.  Children were placed on a waiting list, as parents anxiously hoping to be called for an opening.

We began offering summer camp scholarships last April during our Annual Camp Day Out Event. Once the sessions were filled to capacity and/or the scholarships funds were depleted, a waiting list was begun.

“Camp Day Out”

“Camp Day Out” is a free family-fun informational gathering event that Emerging HOPE has hosted over the last eight years. The purpose of the event is to inform urban families with youth (ages 5-18) of camping opportunities that are available to their children. Camp Day Out operates in an Open House fashion; therefore, you may arrive and leave as you choose.

The event consists of on-site camp registration, free income-based summer camp scholarships, music, door prizes, face painting, and other fun activities. Parents and youth have an opportunity to meet 1:1 with camp directors from an array of camps and summer programs.  It’s a great way to get a feel for what a summer has to offer.

We believe that urban youth may benefit from summer day programs and residential summer camps activities that emphasize socialization, character development, effective communication skills, problem-solving, decision-making, and social-emotional learning. The impact of these programs is far-reaching and touches the entire family. Likewise, summer camp can be one of the most rewarding, unforgettable experiences in a child’s life. Camp provides children with a community of caring mentors who provide experiential education that leads to self-respect and appreciation for life. All of the outcomes—friendships, overcoming challenges, staying healthy and building character— prepare them for bigger, brighter lives down the road. In addition to great friendships and enduring memories, many important life skills are learned at camp.

 Testimonials

My daughter has attended and loved this amazing camp, which was made possible by an Emerging HOPE Ministries camp scholarship opportunity—and I can’t thank Living Water Ministries enough for that!… She now knows and loves God because she wants to, because of her meaningful experiences at camp—from the love, devotion, and friendships she experienced at this special place. –Camp Mom

I can still remember the evening worship that led me to begin reading the Bible on my own. It was a Wednesday night, our worship was around a campfire at Beechpoint Christian Camp. I can’t even remember the topic of the worship. What I do remember is the realization that the week I had enjoyed was quickly coming to an end. The closeness with God I had experienced would be ending in a day and a half. It was at that moment I decided I wanted more, that I wanted to continue to get to know the Lord. That night, and the many nights reading the Bible after, have created a love of reading God’s Word. It is how I have related to the Lord most, how I have learned to rely on and draw nearer to God. - Camper

I love to see this kind of activity going on in our community. When I was raising my boys, I looked for positive summer programs for them to be involved in.
Thank you and your husband for your service to our community and world.

God bless you.

Hi, my name is Krishanna.

I had such a blast at Beechpoint Christian Christian Camp. We rode horses, went swimming, had a cookout, went zip lining, drove go carts, and much much more! I am so blessed to be in contact with Sister Pamela Robinson.

thank you so much sister, Pamela, for EVERYTHING!

“The camp scholarship program is such a blessing. I am a single parent without extra money to be able to afford to send my child to camp. I am so grateful that you offered me the scholarship. I really wanted my child to have something I never had, something that would really impact her life.”

Deion, Emerging H.O.P.E. scholarship recipient camp parent.

Hi, Mrs. Pamela and Mr. Curtis, I had a blast at camp Beechpoint we learned new songs we ate good meals.  We played games like gaga, drove Go-Carts, played basketball, swam, and scaled the gigantic rock climbing wall. I had so much fun. Thank you for everything!

I am exciting that there is a camp available that my granddaughter can possibly learn some other spiritual values that are often lost in hope that one day her father will return home to her.

Ms. Whittaker

I just wanted to send out a heartfelt thank you for the opportunity to send my children to Camp Beechpoint this summer. It was a new experience and they brought home many memories and new friendships from this experience. It is so important to have opportunities for children to grow in their faith, especially as they start to experience new situations which call for spiritual guidance. Camp Beechpoint provided that spiritual guidance, in a fun-filled atmosphere. The camp experience was all the girls talked about for days after returning home!
Thank you again, and blessings to the future of your organization.
